Rochester-William “Bill” F. Roy, Jr., 65 of Rochester, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday January 28th, 2026, after a long illness. He is survived by his significant other Laurie Augustson also of Rochester. He is the son of Nancy (Teachman) Vieira of New Bedford and the late William F. Roy, Sr.
Bill was born in New Bedford and attended New Bedford Public Schools. He raised his family in Wareham and worked as a diesel mechanic for the Town of Wareham. Bill retired to Rochester and spent his retirement days enjoying boating, traveling to New Hampshire, and working in his garage rebuilding trucks and using his diesel-mechanic skills.
He is also survived by his children, Justin Roy and wife Samantha Roy, grandchildren Camden, Layla, Grace and Hailey, Joshua Roy and wife Whitney Roy, Jessica Roy-Wilcox and her husband David Wilcox and grandchildren Kayla, Brandon, Jason, and Brooke Boucher. Brother of Berta and her husband Randy Mullin, of New Bedford, Sharon Bartnick and her significant other Mike Aguiar of Acushnet, Scott Roy and his significant other Lena Monteiro and Eddie Roy all of New Bedford. Bill is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Brother of the late Kathy Roy-Boucher. He will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 10, 2026 from 5-7pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street, Wareham, MA relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
