William Brown Obituary

William Garrison Brown, "Brownie", 75, of Buzzards Bay, passed away at Tobey Hospital on Tuesday, December 17, after a long illness. He was the loving companion of 35 years to Althea O'Brien of Buzzards Bay.

Brownie was born in Carver, MA the son of the late Edwin G. and Celia (Gammons) Brown. He attended Bristol Agricultural High School in Dighton. He loved his family, friends, watching sports, politics and reading the local newspapers. Brownie loved going out for joy rides and striking up conversations with everyone he came into contact with. We all say he knew everyone in town and everywhere he went, he would run into people he knew.

Brownie leaves behind his children; Cynthia and her husband William Babbin of Brunswick, Maine, William G. Brown Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Wareham and Andrew Brown also residing in Wareham. Step daughter Linda (Caswell) Hitchcock and her husband Robert Hitchcock of Carver. He was the loving grandfather of Andrea, Sabrina, Alexander, Ashley, Michael & Diamond and great grandfather of Sophie, Austin and Connor.

Brownie was also survived by his extended family with Althea whom he loved dearly, Betty Ouellette, Kellie Johansen & John Kennedy all of New Hampshire, Ryan Johansen and Patrick Kennedy of Florida and all of their family members.

Brownie is also survived by two brothers; Stephen and his wife Roxanne Brown and Robert Brown, all of Hollywood, Florida. He is the brother in law of Bonnie Brown of Carver and uncle of Ed Brown and Barbara Brown. Let's not forget his best friend Hoptu. There wasn't a day that went by when Hoptu was not riding shot gun with Brownie. Brownie was also the bother of the late Edwin A. Brown.

Ceremonies: A celebration of Brownies life will be held at the Redmen Hall 758 Main Street Wareham on Saturday January 25th from 11- 4pm. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
