Walter M. Thomas

Wareham-Walter M. Thomas, 82, of Swifts Beach passed away Monday September 5, 2022 in the comfort of his home.  He has left us to join his late wife Debrah on a warm sunny beach to walk hand in  hand looking for sea glass.

He grew up in Presque Isle, Maine the son of the late Harry and Viola Thomas, brother of Shirley Kidney and the late Winston and Harry Thomas.

Walter had many jobs throughout his life that he was thankful for later becoming a proud member of Local 4 where he was a damn, good, well respected, heavy equipment operator. He recently celebrated his 50th year as a member. He had a creative mind that was always working on how to invent new things or fix them. He enjoyed wood working, traveling, tennis, dancing, and tinkering in the garage.

He was a loving supportive father to his daughter Rebecca and her husband David Bonfiglio and to his son David Thomas. Proudest and extra special “Grampy” to granddaughter Rachel and her husband Kevin Francis and to grandson Ryan Bonfiglio.

I think anyone who knew Walter knows he was the best of the best. Please share your memories and remember when, he will be happy you are thinking of him.
