Thomas Francis Keen, III passed into eternity on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 43. He was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, on January 13, 1981, to the late Thomas F. Keen, Jr. and Lynn (Myers) Jackson.
Tommy spent his early years in Pennsylvania before moving to Salisbury, Maryland, at the age of 8. Throughout his youth, he became deeply involved in sports, playing baseball for the West Salisbury Little League and swimming for the Elks and YMCA swim teams. He also played soccer and wrestled at James M. Bennett High School, from which he graduated in 1999. Additionally, he completed the CTE auto repair program.
His love for cars and anything with a motor led him to pursue a career as an auto mechanic. He also learned the trade of welding. Working with Expert House Movers on a project in Martha’s Vineyard provided him the opportunity to remain on the island, where he made his home for the past 11 years.
As an animal lover, Tommy had a constant canine companion, Marley, by his side. However, the greatest joy of his life was his daughter, Charlotte. Words cannot express the love and happiness she brought into his life. Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas F. Keen, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Thomas F. Keen, Sr., and Betty Franz; step-grandfather, Derry Franz; and maternal grandmother, Wilma Myers, all of Pennsylvania.
Tommy is survived by his maternal grandfather, Oscar Myers of Pennsylvania; his mother and stepfather, Lynn and Randy Jackson of Salisbury, Maryland; his sisters, Tara Jones (Andy) of Swedesboro, New Jersey, and Megan Janeski (Jim) of Salisbury, Maryland; his stepsisters, Michele Keen (Snell) of Pennsylvania and Leighanne Johnson of Berlin, Maryland; his stepbrother, Ryan Jackson of Salisbury, Maryland; and his beloved daughter Charlotte Adalynn Keen, along with her mother, Chelsea Boyd, of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Several aunts, uncles, and cousins will also mourn his passing. He will be especially missed as the fun and loving uncle to Emily and Tanner Jones, Tyler Janeski, Brynn, and Calla Johnson. Tommy will be dearly missed by his family and many loyal friends.
Formal services are not planned, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
