Thomas Bell Obituary

 

 

 

Wareham-Thomas J. Bell,75, of East Wareham, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 27, 2020.  He was the husband of Lynn (Sleightholm) Bell also of East Wareham.  Thomas was born in Lynn MA the son of the late Mary (Arsenault) Bell.

He was an U.S. Air Force, Vietnam veteran.  Air Base Navigation and radio repair found Airman First Class Bell in the central city of Pleiku, Vietnam, working on the flight line and airbase.  He experienced combat during attacks on the airbase and often felt defenseless since his Military Occupational Specialty did not allow him to carry a firearm or weapon.  He was a member of the Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club in Middleborough and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was the father of Allison Dean of Middleborough and the late Heather Marie Sturgeon.  He was the grandfather of Ryan, Tyler, Mya, Dylan and Taylor.  He was the brother in-law of James Sleightholm of KY ,Richard Sleightholm, Jr. of Wareham and the late Kenneth Sleightholm.   He was survived by many loving relatives and friends (including his best friend Bob of Wareham). 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 11 o’clock at the Agawam cemetery (Dr. Stillman Memorial Drive) Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Baker-Polito Administration, the Administration has ordered all residents over the age of two to use a face covering or mask in public places where maintaining proper social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID -19 are not possible.
