Buzzards Bay – Thelma C. Files, 93, of Buzzards Bay passed away on Sunday May 16, at home with her son at her side.  She was the wife of the late Richard J. Files.  She was born in Waltham the daughter of the late Harris and Isabella MacArthur.

A graduate of Waltham High School, Thelma enjoyed her family, friends and co-workers.  She worked in retail most of her life too include the Cranberry House and the Kandy Korner both formerly in Wareham. She also worked for Filene’s in Hyannis as a sales representative in the Cosmetic Dept.  She was an avid New England sports fan including women’s figure skating, golf and her beloved Red Sox.  She was a doughnut connoisseur and also enjoyed her popcorn, candy, a good crossword challenge, creating exceptional seasonal floral arrangements and never missed a parade. She loved anything purple,  glitter and she simply had a heart of gold.     

She was the mother of Richard J. Files, Jr. of Osterville and his partner Catherine Raymond and Donald Jardine.  She was the grandmother of Matthew Files and his wife Tracy of Simpsonville, SC and Andrew and Leah Jardine.   A special thank you to everyone at South Coast Visiting Nurse Association for their professionalism, time, caring and patience. 

A committal service will be held on   Monday May 24, 2021 at  10:30 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery 1 Bennington Blvd. Bourne, MA 02532.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend to leave a message of condolence for the family  please visit www.warehamvillagefunerallhome.com
