Stephen Walsh

Barnstable-Stephen Walsh, 78, of Pocasset passed on Monday,  July 24, 2023 at Cape Cod Hospital  with his loving companion Louise Innis at his side. Stephen was born on December 26, 1944 in Cambridge, MA the son of the late Anthony and Nora (O’Connell) Walsh.

He attended West Point and later graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a BA in Civil Engineering.  He received his Masters in Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and  dedicated over twenty-five years of service to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.

In his retirement, Steve enjoyed gardening, riding his bike around the villages of Bourne and home improvement projects. He volunteered his time and served  on the Board of Affordable Housing in Bourne and was always willing to help both his community and family whenever he was needed.

In addition to his loving companion of over 26 years, Louise Innis of Pocasset, he is also survived by Louise’s children Laura Innis, Steven Innis and Lisa Grobleski , and Louise’s grandchildren; Dylan, Mitchell, Max, Sam and Bella, whom he loved dearly.   He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews relatives and friends.  Stephen was the father of the late Stephen A. Walsh who passed away in 2018 and the brother of the late Tom Walsh, John Walsh, Maureen Tennis and Joan O’Meara.

Funeral Mass Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 10 O’clock in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 841 Shore Road, Pocasset, MA 02559.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  Visiting hours have been omitted.  Burial will follow in Cataumet Cemetery 1081 County Road Cataumet.  Memorial gifts may  be made to the charity of your choice.  To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com
