Shirley J. (Chandler) Russell

Wareham-Shirley J. Russell, 75, passed away on Saturday March 22, 2025 with her family at her side at the Royal Cape Cod Nursing Home in Bourne.  Wife of the late George H. Russell Jr. and daughter of the late Curtis B, and Janet (Maxim) Chandler.

Shirley attended Wareham Pubic Schools and worked for many years as an assembler for the All-State Door Co.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed watching the sport of boxing.

She is survived by her children: Phyllis M. Russell of Wareham, Donna Russell of E. Wareham and George Russell “Boo” of Wareham.  Sister of Bonnie Besse of Onset and Lawrence Chandler of E. Wareham.  Grandmother of Jodylynn, Robert, Aaron, George, Chris, Christina and Kayla.  Great grandmother of Aleyah and Lilliana.  Mother of the late Janice Hodkinson, Grandmother of the late Deanna Russell and sister of the late Bartlett Alexander, Curtis Chandler and Beverly Ortiz.

Visiting Hours Sunday, March 30 from 4-6pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.  Funeral Service Monday March 31 at 10 am in the Wareham Village Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Centre Cemetery Tihonet Road Wareham.  To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.
