Ronald Fabas Obituary

Middleborough – Ronald J. Fabas, (87) husband of the late Mary E. Fabas of Middleborough, passed away at home with his family by his side on Sunday, January 15, 2023. He fought a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer for 3 years and remained active until the last few months.

Ron was born on September 27th, 1935, in Central Falls, Rhode Island to the late Lucien and Eva (Marchand) Fabas. He has one brother Richard. The Fabas’ moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island where Ronnie attended St. Leo’s School and Saint Raphael Academy. He served in the United States Army in France and was discharged with a Good Conduct Medal. He later graduated from Bryant College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Ron worked for the Ferland Company and The Foxboro Company as an accountant, as well as Coventry Credit Union as the Chief Financial Officer. After retirement, Ron joined Mary in her real estate business in Attleboro.

Ronnie and Mary first met in the 6th grade at St. Leo’s School.  They went on their separate paths in high school and met again when Ronnie returned from the Army and Mary had chosen to leave the Sisters of Mercy. They were married in 1960 and have one daughter, Colleen. As a family, they enjoyed spending time on the Cape, in Narragansett and Vermont.  Ronnie and Mary were longtime residents of Attleboro and moved to Middleborough 3 years ago. Ronnie and Mary had many pets over the years, most recently their loyal friend Daisy who was with him in his final days. The family knows that Ron is now at peace with the love of his life and best friend Mary.

In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his Corbett family members who he loved dearly. They are Margaret Corbett, Marge & Richard Morin, Jim & Lu Corbett, Bill Corbett, Kate Corbett & Casey Crandall and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
