Robert Irvin Packer passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 55. He was born on April 22nd, 1970 in Attleboro, MA to the late Janet (Hopkins) and Walter Packer of Wareham MA.
Bob worked for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 13 of Philadelphia for 15 years. He was dedicated and passionate about his trade as a skilled welder and worked at a number of refineries around the country. He especially loved the fact that he could travel with and work alongside his older brother William. Along his travels he enjoyed meeting new people and seeing interesting sites such as the Cosmos Mystery Area in SD and the Redwood Forest in CA.
Bob was an eclectic man. When he picked up a new hobby, he went all in. He loved drawing, painting, and sharing his works. Bob had a green thumb and took up gardening and landscaping. He also enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, kayaking, camping, and riding quads up in Maine with his brothers. Bob was a fan of the Celtics, the Bruins, and as a Patriots’ season ticket holder he enjoyed watching Brady play in his early years. As a fast car enthusiast, Bob enjoyed the racing scene as a spectator and even as a driver for a time at the speedway in Chepachet, RI. You would often find him in his garage rebuilding his Mustang engine or sitting by the fire listening to music, quoting movies, telling jokes, and sharing stories with the people he loved.
Bob is survived by his children Allison Wallace of Collingswood, NJ, Kelsey Packer of Millis, MA, and Autumn Packer of Wareham, MA. He is also survived by his siblings Christine Elven and husband Jeffrey of Middlebury, CT, William Packer of Chesterville, ME and wife Raelene Joy of the Philippines, and Jason Packer of Wareham, MA, as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Bob was a one of a kind, his personality unrivaled. He will forever be missed by everyone who knew him.
