West Wareham-Robert D. Monteiro, 78, of West Wareham passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May, 18, 2021 at Saint Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. Robert was born in Wareham on August 11th, 1942 the son of the late Caesar and Anastasia (Sweeney) Monteiro.
He attended Wareham Public Schools and worked for many years as a painter and laborer for the Dept, of Conservation and Recreation at Myles Standish State Forest. He enjoyed watching and following NASCAR, a good western, court TV Dramas especially Judge Judy. He also enjoyed the company of his close friends and reminiscing with great stories of his life experiences.
Robert is survived by his daughters: Robin Monteiro of California, Dawn Monteiro and her life-long companion Richard Rose of Falmouth. His grandchildren: Royce Monteiro and his wife Sarah of New Hampshire, Brian Monteiro, Shelby Monteiro and Storm Monteiro-Rose all of Falmouth and his great granddaughter Soloe Monteiro of Falmouth.
He was the brother of Caesar ‘Sam” Monteiro Jr. of RI, Edwin Monteiro of Onset, Katherine “Kakie” Monteiro and her husband Glenn of Onset. He was the long-time companion of Brenda Morrell. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Silvia) Monteiro and brother of the late Anthony “ Bobby” Monteiro, Josephine Gonsalves, Lydia Pires and Many Rose Silvia.
