West Wareham-Robert “Skip” J. Langford Jr., 72 of West Wareham passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at home. He was born in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Robert J. Langford Sr., Tommie Jeannine (Morgan) Leonard, and Ronald M. Leonard Sr.
Skip was a Brockton High School graduate, a U.S. Army, Vietnam veteran and a graduate of The University of Toledo in Ohio with an Associate’s Degree in Business Management. He was known by many as a gentle giant who wanted nothing more from life than to work hard, provide for his family and have a little fun listening to music, sitting around a fire or going to a ball game. Though Skip had many amounting health conditions in the past years, he was always determined to get strong and was motivated to be there for his family’s monumental moments in life, like his daughter’s wedding and the birth of his grandson, and of course the Boston Red Sox reversing the curse!
He was the father of Melissa Cheslock and her husband Kenny and their son KJ of East Falmouth. He was the brother of: Michael Langford and his wife Michelle of Wareham, Ron Leonard Jr. and his wife Claire of Punta Gorda, FL, Dick Leonard and his wife Bonnie of Middleboro, Beverly Johnson and her husband Frank of Brockton, Tom Leonard and his wife Nancy of Marlborough, Gloria Mitchell and her husband David of Wareham, Naomi Langford of San Antonio, TX and the late Cathy Jansen and Karen Langford. He was also survived by many loving nieces’ nephews’ relatives and friends.
