Richard A. "Ricky" Ness

White Island Pond-Richard Ness passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2022.  He was born on April 30th, 1953 to Herb & Judy Ness in Astoria, Oregon. Rick graduated from W. Bridgewater High in 1971 and spent one year at Wentworth Institute before marrying Tina Holmgren in 1972. 

Rick worked at Shiretown Ford in Plymouth MA for many years as a mechanic and later a salesman until he started his own contracting business.  Over a course of many years, he has built houses, remodeled and was the neighborhood handyman for so many.  He was known to fix anything and always took any call for help, morning, noon or the middle of the night it didn't matter he was there. 

He is survived by his wife Tina; his son, Erik and his wife Becky, his daughter, Amy and her husband, Dan; his grandchildren Daniel and Karilyn; his sisters Linda and Donna; and many nieces and nephews.  Rick is predeceased by his brother Thomas and nephew Timothy.

Rick was a friend to everyone on White Island Pond and we all relied on his endless knowledge and kind heart.  Rick loved to fish on the pond and play horseshoes.  He also was known to gamble a bit and loved going to the Casino or just heading to the local spot to play Keno.  To know Ricky was to love him.  He was a true family man and a friend to all. 

In lieu of services, we will be having a luncheon tribute on Saturday, April 16th from 1:00-4:00 at Vel's Family Restaurant, 2352 Cranberry Hwy, West Wareham.  Please come share your memories and celebrate a great man.
