Richard P. Garant

West Wareham- Richard P. Garant, 82, husband of Barbara L. (Ames) Garant, passed away on July 28, 2022,  at Massachusetts General Hospital Boston.  He was born in Fall River the son of the late Joseph O. and Stella H. (Dobek) Garant.

A 1958 B.M.C. Durfee High School graduate, U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and an avid sports fan.  Richard was a retired Boston 379 Teamster.  He was a heavy construction equipment operator and truck driver.  He drove for Texaco, Getty, Mobil, Tide Water Associated Oil, Co., Rebel Trucking and co-owned R & B Garant Transportation Co.

He was survived by his children; Steffanie L. Phillips of Wareham, Michelle L. Wilson of Westport, Brett T. Joubert of NC, Holly J. Garant of Somerset, Brian E. Joubert of Wareham, Tracy A. Priestner of Westport and his mother in-law Laura Ames of W. Wareham.  He was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.  He was the father of the late Bradford T. Joubert and brother of the late Carol A. Garant.
