Reverend Timothy Pierre Jones
Reverend Timothy Pierre Jones, a devoted man of God, loving husband, father, veteran, and servant to his community, peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, and service.
Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Timothy was the son of the late Henry Preston Jones and Madeline Lucy Diggs Jones, who were married and together raised a family grounded in faith and resilience. He was deeply rooted in a rich family lineage that shaped his strength and character. Timothy was raised alongside his siblings Victoria, Henry Jr., Sharon, and later welcomed Kenneth.
Timothy was married to Carla Jones, his devoted spouse and the mother who stood alongside him in raising their children. Together, with love and commitment, they nurtured a family grounded in faith and resilience. He was the proud father of five children: son Jajuan Hackett, daughter Timecca Warren-Cordero (Husband Edwin Cordero, Sr.), daughter Dr. Timarra Warren, the late daughter Timella Warren, and daughter Timonicca Jones-Gomes (Husband Alex Gomes). His role as a father was one of his greatest callings, and his love for God inspired each of his children to develop their own personal relationships with Christ.
He leaves behind a multitude of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was a loving, devoted grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Mya Hackett, Nigel Gonzales, Jaylin Gonzales, Edwin Cordero, Jr., Giovanni Cordero, Evelyn Cordero, Malcolm Meristil, Matarra Meristil, Kelvilenna Ortiz, Alex Gomes, and Alecc Gomes. His legacy lives on and continues to reflect the faith, strength, and values he instilled in them.
A man of deep faith, Reverend Jones faithfully founded Upon This Rock Ministries, where he ministered for decades. His life was a testimony to God’s grace. Nearly 30 years ago, he survived a devastating motorcycle accident that left him with multiple injuries and in a coma for several months. By the mercy of God, he recovered and continued walking in his divine purpose.
Timothy endured profound personal losses, including the passing of his mother, Madeline Jones, from cancer in 2005, and the tragic loss of his daughter, Timella Warren, on August 6, 2012. Through every trial, his faith deepened, and his trust in God remained unshaken.
Reverend Jones was also a proud United States veteran and a skilled tradesman, working as a plumber, electrician, and local 7 iron worker. He dedicated much of his professional life to serving vulnerable populations. He worked with the Veterans Affairs Hospital through the Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) program and previously served as a case manager and youth counselor, helping individuals struggling with substance abuse, incarceration, housing instability, and poverty.
His commitment to education and ministry was unwavering. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Roxbury Community College, completed Pastoral Education at New England Baptist Hospital, and obtained his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. These achievements equipped him to provide outreach, counseling, and spiritual guidance to countless individuals over more than a decade of service.
In addition to his formal work, Reverend Jones volunteered extensively with incarcerated youth and outreach ministries, offering counseling, worship services, and mentorship. His heart for the underserved was evident in every role he embraced.
At the time of his passing, Reverend Timothy Pierre Jones was a resident of Malden, Massachusetts, Addictions Counselor, and retired from the VA in Roxbury, Ma.
Reverend Jones will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a resilient survivor, a compassionate mentor, and a loving family man. His life was a living sermon—one of redemption, endurance, and unwavering faith. The family of Reverend Timothy Pierre Jones would like to thank all relatives, friends, church members, and loved ones for their prayers, love, and support during this time of bereavement. We find comfort in knowing that he fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.
