Priscilla A. Ness

Priscilla Ann Ness of White Island Pond, East Wareham passed away peacefully on September 9, 2022 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her dear friend and loving companion Yolanda Keefe, her sisters Arlene Holt and Beverly King and brother Herbert Ness. 

Priscilla was born on March 19, 1933 to Herbert and Viola Ness in Brockton, MA.  Pat lived on Brookside Ave in the Campello section of Brockton most of life.  Graduating from Brockton High School in 1951, she excelled at sports playing Basketball (captain), Field Hockey, Swimming, Softball (captain), Volleyball and Badminton. Pat was always ready to go for an afternoon swim at The Campello Pool, play a couple of sets of tennis at South Junior High School or get in nine holes of golf at Pine Hills Golf Course.

While working at The J.W. Wood Elastic Web Co. in Stoughton, Pat met her sister Arlene’s friend Yolanda Keefe. After striking up a friendship, Yolanda and her one year old son Robert started living with Pat on Brookside Ave. Together, Pat and Yolanda and Robert became a family.  Pat worked 17 years at the J.W. Wood Elastic Web Co. in Stoughton, 23 year as a Floor Supervisor for The King Size Men’s Clothing Co. in Brockton and 10 years for Hallmark Greeting Cards.  

After retiring from The King Size Co. in 1990, Pat and Yolanda moved to White Island Pond in East Wareham where she was a 50 year member and Past President of The White Island Shores Community Association.  Pat was a member of the YMCA and would usually go three times a week to meet with her girlfriends, exercise and go out for lunch. In her retirement Pat enjoyed bike rides along the Cape Cod Canal, working in her yard, swimming, playing tennis and golf and, spending many good times with her family and friends. 

Pat’s family was very important to her and she leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will always remember “Aunty Pat” and what a wonderful person she truly was. 

She always cared deeply for all her nieces and nephews. None more than her loving and caring niece, Patricia Desgrosseilliers. Pat said many times that Patti was her “Angel on Earth”.  

There was so much more to Aunty Pat’s life then these few words could begin to express.   Priscilla Ann Ness lived a full and productive life and leaves memories that will not soon be forgotten by her family and friends and her legacy will live on.
