Paul Tavares Obituary

Fairhaven-Paul M. Tavares, 64, Of Fairhaven formerly of New Bedford, passed away at home on February 8. Paul was born in New Bedford the son of the late Manuel Souza Tavares and Pearl A. Downie, Martin Tavares.

He graduated from New Bedford Public Schools and attended Bristol Community College. He enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming and traveling. A great cook, Paul was known for creating the world's best kale soup. A caring and generous heart he enjoyed the Holidays especially preparing the traditional Thanksgiving dinner for his mother and helping his close friend Gwen around the kitchen.

He is survived by his daughters: Michelle Larrivee of Maine and Corinne Shaker of Fall River. He was the brother of Marjorie Tavares of Leominster and he was also survived by 2 grandchildren. He was the uncle of Eric Dilda of Fitchburg and Greg and his wife Deanna Dilda of Gloucester and many loving relatives and friends. He was the brother of the late Madeline K. Weaver.

Ceremonies: Funeral services and burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Leominster will be private, a memorial service will be planned for a later date..
