Patricia Ruth (Leonard) Macdonald

Our beautiful, wonderful mother is no longer with us. Patricia Ruth (Leonard) Macdonald died on 9-9-25. Patricia was born on Valentines day 2-14-31 at Cape Cod Hospital to Albert and Ella Leonard of Nye Rd. As a young girl she enjoyed ballet lessons and loved her brothers Albert, Russell and Robert. Patricia graduated Falmouth High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart Malcolm Edwin (Ted) Macdonald in St. Barnabas church in 1951.

She and Ted graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport IA and together opened the first chiropractic office on Cape Cod in their home on Prospect St. As the office got busy, they moved it to the Eastman building on Main St. and then bought property at 169 Gifford St. There they converted the barn to an office and added on to the house. We are in awe of how, with 5 children, they managed this and built a campground and mobile home village in Mashpee, another chiropractic practice on Nantucket and another office and second home on St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. Mom loved their place there and swam almost everyday at Coki Beach and off their waterfront dock.

Patricia leaves her children David and his wife Linda, Dale and his wife Cheryl, Debra Sadoff, Denis and Diane, grandchildren Scott and David Macdonald, Kelsey and Kerri Sadoff, Emily (Macdonald) Schmit, Megan (Macdonald) Lang, Jessica Lawrence (step) and Josh Burgess (step), and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, son-in-law Barry Sadoff and step granddaughter Kellie Coppenrath. Mom was very loving and much loved. She gave so much of herself to all of us. We have been so lucky to have her in our lives and will miss her forever.
