New Bedford-Oliver M. Cabral, “Ollie”, 82, of New Bedford, husband of Olga M. (Rebelo) Cabral also of New Bedford passed away on Saturday June 14, 2025 at the Alden Court Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center, Fairhaven.
Mr. Cabral was born in Feteira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on March 27, 1943, the son of the late Manuel Rocha Cabral and Olivia (Resendes) Cabral. Mr. Cabral was a Lic. Funeral Director and embalmer for over 50 years and the former owner of the Cabral Baylies Square-Lamoureux Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 512 North Front Street in New Bedford .
A communicant of the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, New Bedford. He enjoyed cooking, wine tastings, and traveling. He is a past member of Senhor da Pedra Society, Madeira Sports Club, Club Madeirense SS Sacramento, Ponta Delgada Club, Prince Henry Society, St. Michael Club, Panthers A C Club, New Bedford Sports Club, Portuguese American Club, Centro Luzo Club, Portuguese Sports Club, Our Lady of Angel Band Club, National Funeral Directors Association and Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association.
Father of Tiffany L. McElheny and her husband Isaac of Utah and Nathaniel O.J. Cabral and his wife Jessica of New Bedford. Grandfather of Cooper and Georgia of Utah. Brother of Maria O. Galego and her husband Jose of Ohio , brother In-law of Mary Cabral of Yarmouth. He is also survived by many loving relatives, friends and colleagues. A special thank you to all the staff at Alden Court.

The family cordially invites you to Mr. Cabral’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday June 20, 2025 at 11 O’clock. in Our lady of the Immaculate Conception Church 136 Earle Street New Bedford. Visiting will be in the church from 10-11 am. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery 1100 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA
