Nancy P. (Bowlby) Foley

Falmouth, MA – Nancy P. Foley, 76, of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Manchester, CT, wife of the late Peter Foley, passed away on December 22, 2022 peacefully and with her family at the Royal Megansett Nursing and Retirement Home after battling dementia.

She was born on February 27, 1946 in Middleton, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Orin L. and Maisie M. (Boates) Bowlby of Waltham, MA and Wilmot, NS. Nancy immigrated with her family in 1956 to the United States of America and became a citizen of the USA in the 1990’s.

Nancy graduated from Waltham High School, Waltham, MA in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart, Peter Foley on July 8, 1967 at Our Lady of Grace Parish in Everett, MA. Nancy was blessed with three children, and opened her own daycare center which operated for many years from her home in Manchester, CT. Nancy and her family spent many summer days at their Plymouth, MA home on Great Herring Pond riding on the boat while towing one of the kids on water skis. Her family also enjoyed numerous trips to Walt Disney World and many beach days in Clearwater, FL. Nancy also enjoyed traveling with her late husband to places like England and Spain. Nancy also loved hitting the ski slopes with Peter. After the passing of her husband, Nancy moved permanently to Plymouth. Her continued joy and passion were spending time with grandchildren whether in Plymouth, at Disney World or shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her many cousins whether in Nova Scotia or all meeting down in Florida for the winter.

She is survived by her daughter Megan (Foley) Sheehan and her husband Ryan of Colchester, CT, her daughter-in-law, Valerie Foley of Kissimmee,  FL as well as her grandchildren; Padraic and Christian Foley, Jorge Escobar, and Kenzie, Jakob and Everett Sheehan. She is also survived by her sister, Maizie (Bowlby) and her husband, Laurie Paul Bourgeois of Waltham, MA, and sister-in-law, Marlene Bowlby of FL and brother-in-law, Edward Gray of FL, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Nancy was the mother of the late Gerald “Darby” Foley of Webster, MA and Shannon Foley of Hebron, CT, grandmother of the late Gerald “DJ” Foley of Kissimmee, FL, and sister to the late June (Bowlby) Gray of FL and Orin “Bo” Bowlby of FL.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10 o’clock in Our Lady of Grace Parish, 194 Nichols Street, Everett, MA 02149.
