Mary L. (Lomeli) Bou

Mary L. Bou, 92, of Wareham, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday,

September 25, 2024.  She was born in New York City, New York, on March 17, 1932 and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

She returned to New York City as a young woman and later moved to New Jersey. She lived in Puerto Rico for several years, enjoying her retirement before moving to Wareham, Massachusetts. She earned her undergraduate and master's degrees in education from Montclair State University and had a formidable career as a New Jersey State Investigator.  A devout Christian, Mary attended church regularly. Mary was a master gardener and contributed to the rehabilitation of Ellis Island by assisting in the planting of many shrubs and flowers. She was an artist, swimmer, tennis player, soccer player, and equestrian who enjoyed going to the beach and indulging in a good donut till the very end.

Mary is survived by her children, Marilyn Guadalupe Bou and Andre Roberto Luis Bou; her grandchildren, Esteban Hector J. Hayes, Leslyn Meri Hayes, Nicolette Bou, and Madison Bou; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Rafael Bou II, as well as her siblings.
