Marie Murray Obituary

Onset-Marie (Coffey) Murray, (93) of Onset passed away on Thursday April 11, 2024 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.  She was the wife of 52 years to the late William J. Murray.  Born in Boston the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Skehan) Coffey.

Marie was proud of her South Boston heritage she graduated high school from South Boston’s Gate of Heaven  High School.  She and her husband raised their children in West Bridgewater.  A communicant and volunteer at Saint Ann’s Church, she also enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader.  Marie and Bill owned and operated the Olde Stone House Antiques in South Middleborough and Marie also worked for 25 + years in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office in Brockton and at the Wareham District Court House.  Marie was an avid follower of politics, both local and national.  Upon retirement Bill and Marie moved to their beloved beach home in Onset. 

She is survived by her daughter Darcy Beals of Wareham and her son William A. Murray and his wife Elaine of Plymouth.   Grandchildren: Kathreen Kessel and Kelly Rose Murray. Great granddaughter Teagan A. Kessel.  Loving aunt to many especially her favorite nephew, William Coffey and his wife Celine LeBourdais of Montreal.

She was the mother of the late Kathleen Murray, DVM. and Kevin Murray. Grandmother of the late Timothy Beals.  Sister of the late William, Andrew and John Coffey, Helen Kennedy and Claire Toohey.
