Margaret (King) Wood
February 20, 1932 - December 7, 2024
Margaret (King) Wood, 92, died in her home in Wareham, MA in the comfort and company of her loved ones. After a career in caregiving at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Margaret spent her later years as an avid bowler, engaged neighbor and active member of the First Congregational Church of Wareham. Her biscuits and stories were a welcome contribution at every gathering.
The best pastry begins with chilled ingredients and the secret lies in knowing when to stop kneading and trust the strength of the bonds you’ve made to the heat of the oven.
Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to the United States in 1953 keeping close to her 5 siblings and their families on both sides of the Atlantic. She is survived by her brother John King, her children Carl and Lesley; Carl’s wife Mary, and her granddaughter Cara, and her many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Margaret always spoke her mind and nurtured friendships in every neighborhood she called home, joining bowling leagues, card games, bus trips and bingo. She leaves a legacy of hard work and cherished memories.
To honor Margaret’s wishes she will be cremated and there will be no service. Donations in her memory, may be made to the one charity dearest to you and your families. To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com
