Margaret J. "Maggie" (Burke) Sylvia

Wareham-Margaret J. “Maggie” Sylvia, 86 of Wareham formerly of Brockton passed away at home at the All American Assisted Living at Wareham.  Maggie was the daughter of the late Jerimiah and Bridget (Hunt) Burke. 

Born in Brockton she attended Saint Patrick’s Parochial School and Brockton Public Schools.  She began working for New England Telephone and Telegraph and retired from working as a line assignor from Verizon.  She was an avid reader, baker and loved to travel and play “Bingo”.    She especially enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods with friends.

Maggie was survived by her son Brian Sylvia and his wife Anne of Wareham. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  She was the sister of the late: Francis Burke, Jerimiah Burke, Mary Sampson and Ann Flynn.

Visitation with the family will be held on Monday July 13, from 4-6 pm with a prayer service to begin at 5:30 in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
