Onset-Manuel J. Dias Jr. “ Jay”, passed unexpected on December 31, 2023. Jay was 43 years old and resided in the Onset and Wareham, MA his entire life. Son of the late Manuel J. and Joan Dias Sr. Jay was an avid commercial lobster fisherman throughout the south coast region.
During his free time at home, he loved celebrating life with his family and friends. He cherished his pets "Biscuit and Bunker" and had a passion for buying the latest fashion trends in sneakers and baseball hats. No matter the weather, Jay also had an obsession for attending to his landscape. He will be remembered fondly by all his many friends, companions, and co-workers.
Jay is survived by his loving family, sister Bridget and her husband Tom Forend of Onset, brother Michael Mattos of Bourne, sister Heather and husband Jason Gaisford, of Westport, brother Jeff and wife Jenifer Dias of Onset, Uncle Charles and wife Kim Dias of Bourne. He was also survived by longtime girlfriend Emily Belanger of Wareham and by his many nieces, nephews, especially Justin Joaquin, and great nieces and nephews. Jay was the brother of the late Dawn Andrews.
