Makayla R. Morse

Boston-Makayla R. Morse, 8, of New Bedford, succumbed to her heart condition on Tuesday January 5, 2021 after beating all the odds and fighting for almost 9 years.  Makayla was the daughter of Matthew Morse of Wareham and Hannah Soares of New Bedford and stepdaughter of Geoffrey Peckham also of New Bedford. 

Makayla was a “Pulaski Pride, Hear Us Roar” second grade student at the Casimir Pulaski Elementary School in New Bedford.  She loved to cuddle, sorting , Legos and lassoing.  She loved the challenge of a video game, Paw Patrol and music.  She especially enjoyed the artists Marshmello and Alesso.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings: Madison Soares of New Bedford, Oliver Risotti of Maine and Kelsey Peckham of Wareham.  She was the granddaughter of Robert Morse of Rochester, Barbara Morse of Berkley, Joseph Soares of New Bedford, Debbie Houle of New Bedford and Charles and Linda Bean of Bourne.  She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles , relatives and friends.

Memorial Visiting hours will be held on Thursday January 14, from 5-7pm only in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham, MA 02571.  Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Please remember due to Covid-19 public wakes are held at capacity limits and mean that your visit to the funeral home should be brief to allow other guests time to pay their respects to the family. Face coverings are required at the funeral home.
