M. Carolyn Tintle, 83 years old, resided in West Wareham, MA passed away peacefully following a brief illness on November 17, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Ruth Lockhart.
She was born on November 24th, 1940 in Boston, and grew up and graduated high school in Hyde Park. She attended secretarial school in Boston, and worked for Price Waterhouse for years. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother.
She loved all of her nieces and nephews very much. They meant the world to her. She originally lived in Braintree, MA and moved to Manchester, NH where she raised her three children on her own. She returned to Braintree MA to care for her elderly mother who passed in October 2000 at the age of 94.
She moved to West Wareham, MA after her mother's passing, and lived with her longtime partner Jack Conroy. Jack passed away in November 2021, but she loved her retirement home and continued to live there until her recent passing.
Carolyn was a breast cancer survivor and following treatment, lived cancer free for over 20 years, until her most recent cancer diagnosis in September of 2024. She loved her family, multiple Disney trips, and annual "Girls" weekends every October. She loved people in general, and made many friends throughout the years. She enjoyed the time spent at the knitting group sessions, and made countless hats, mittens, scarves, and blankets for the local school children, and homeless, as well as, baby hats for the local maternity ward, and lap warmers for the veterans. She attended many senior trips, meals, and shows, and loved spending time with her friends. Carolyn was a very giving person, and would give many thank you gifts to her neighbors and friends for helping her out over the years, especially since she had been on her own. She appreciated each and every one of you.
She loved her two cats, Tiffany and Miesha, and loved gardening when she was able to do it.
She is survived by her three children, Barbara (William) Finch, of Auburn, NH, Brian Tintle, of Manchester, NH, and Christine (Leon) Veretto of Stafford Springs, CT. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Amanda, Timothy, Tyler, Alanah, McIntyre, and Matthew. Four great grandchildren, Ciarra, Aidan, Aubrey, and Leo, and one great great granddaughter, Berkley Jean.
Loving sister of David (Alberta) Lockhart of Stoughton, MA, RuthAnn Lockhart of Rhode Island, and Imelda (John) Barucci of Canton, MA. She was very proud to have seen five generations, twice in her lifetime.
She is predeceased by her sister, Barbara Walsh, brother Donald Lockhart, and brother Harry "Chipper" Lockhart, as well as, her sister-in-law, Elaine Lockhart, and brother-in-law, Paul Walsh. Carolyn will be greatly missed by all who have known her.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday November 30, 2024 from 11-1pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will be private.
