Lois Ann (Genovese) Rosenberg, 84, of Harwich Port, passed away on Friday, September 25th, 2026. She was born in Plainfield, NJ and raised in Scotch Plains, NJ and Hollywood, FL.
She and her beloved husband Edward of 57 years moved to Westwood in 1968 where they raised their family. In 2007, they moved to Harwich, MA to be close to their friends.
Lois leaves behind her children: Mark and his wife Sophie, Beth and her husband Eric, and Celia and her fiancé Jeff. She also leaves behind her step-children Carol Ann and her husband David “Cal” Callahan, Linda and her husband Michael Silverstein, and daughter-in-law Debra Rosenberg, as well as her beloved grandchildren Cole, Lexie, Noah, Eden, Adele, Allison, Josh, Eric, and Drew.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Edward, parents Anna and Louis, sister Shirley, and step-son David.
Lois attended Rollins College in FL, graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, and settled in Boston where she worked at Putnam Investments and ultimately met her husband.
After she married, she became a homemaker and contributed time and resources to charities and local organizations focused on aiding and protecting the vulnerable in society, including Meals on Wheels, the Home for Little Wanderers, and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Lois brought joy wherever she went and to her friends and loved ones. She developed a talent as a gourmet chef that made her home the destination for seasonal gatherings at the holidays, life milestone events, and summer pool parties. Her kitchen and hosting skills paired with her keen, witty sense of humor were a recipe to delight guests and make lasting memories.
At the age of 70, she began working at home decor and dress shops on Cape Cod, where she interacted with and learned from shoppers and tourists hailing from around the globe as she shared fashion advice.
Outside of her work, she loved spending time with her family and friends, playing bridge, engaging in book club, soaking up the sun on the beaches of Cape Cod, and socializing at Allen Harbor Yacht Club.
She leaves behind and will remain eternally grateful for her wonderful friends on Cape Cod and throughout New England.
In lieu of flowers, Lois’s family requests donations in her memory to Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, the Home for Little Wanderers, or the VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement.
