Linda C. (Smith) Augustine

New Bedford-Linda Catherine (Smith) Augustine,70, of Wareham and Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020 after a long period of failing health, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

Linda was born in Brockton, Massachusetts and graduated from Brockton High School. Linda continued her education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Suffolk University in marketing.  
Linda worked many years for the City of Brockton before her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis forced her to retire. Despite her health issues she never let the disease dampen her spirits. Nor did the illness slow her down. While at home, Linda could be seen down at the water enjoying nature’s beauty or most recently, playing bingo and other activities with her fellow residents at Wareham Healthcare.   

Linda is survived by her loving brother Fr. Lawrence Smith of Washington D.C. and many cousins and dear friends. Linda is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly forty years, Joseph Michael Augustine; and her parents, Ora and Lawrence Smith formally of Brockton, MA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
