Joseph T. Roy, Jr.

Wareham-Joseph T. Roy, Jr., 79,  a life-long resident of Wareham, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.  Joseph was the son of the late Joseph T. and Lesley R. (Franklin) Roy, Sr.  Born in Wareham he attended Wareham Public Schools and was a Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Compton (DD-705) an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer.

Joseph was a well-known autobody technician working locally for Cranberry Chevrolet, Strawn Buick and Suddard Ford.  He also worked for the Tremont Nail Factory as a Machinist.  He was a bicycle and muscle car enthusiast and  NASCAR fan.  He was also a member of the downtown DD coffee crew. 

Joseph was survived by his daughter Donna M. Fiocchi of Wareham and his son Joseph T. Roy of Wareham.  He was the grandfather of Erin Roy, Amy Fiocchi and Ryan Fiocchi.  He was also survived by many relatives and friends. 

A Farewell Ceremony will be held on Friday February 19, 2021 at 10 am in the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham, MA 02571.  Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.  Burial will be private.  To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.warehamvillagefuneralhome.com
