Joseph Armand Roy, 91, of East Wareham, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on June 9, 2026.
Born December 28, 1934, in Lawrence, MA, Joe lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
Joe proudly served in the Army National Guard for 33 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. His military service was a source of great pride and reflected his lifelong commitment to duty and leadership.
Joe enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with family at gatherings and celebrations. Those who knew Joe will remember his warmth, generosity, and devotion to the people he loved. For many years, he would spend one day a week driving to NH to take his sister to lunch, then return to the Cape, which was sometimes difficult because of heavy traffic. Yet, he never complained. and rarely canceled.
Joe is survived by his two daughters, Caroline Pepin (Christopher) and Kristen Torres, grandchildren Joshua and Ashleigh, sisters, Annette Hazeltine (Douglas), and Lucille Trochesset, sister-in-law Carla Roy, and many nieces and nephews. Joe will also be missed by his dear friend, Zack Gasse, who was like a son to him. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Claudia Roy; his brother Raymond Roy, and his sisters Rita Ouellette, Julie McKinnon, and Caroline Roy.
Joe's family will surely miss "the Colonel" and cherish the many memories they shared with him.
A military burial will be held at a later date.
