Jon A. Johnson

Jon Johnson of Wareham passed on May 29, 2025, at home after years of declining health. A devoted father, his greatest joy came from being a dad. He took pride in watching his children grow, teaching through patience, humor, and unconditional love.

Jon was a man of many passions who found peace in life’s simple pleasures. He loved to cook, and his meals were a source of comfort and connection for those lucky enough to sit at his table. He was happiest with a fishing rod in hand and took great pride in his work as a skilled heavy equipment operator, serving several construction companies. He also valued quiet moments — a good meal, rock music, or stillness.

He is survived by his children, Rachel and Chad Johnson, mother Nancy Baril, stepfather Don Baril, and was predeceased by his father, Arnold Johnson. He also leaves behind his brother Richard, nieces, and nephews.

A private service will be held in his honor.
