John Sousa

Rochester - John Sousa, 66, beloved husband of Pamela Sousa, and adoring father of two, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Ribeira Brava, Madeira Portugal to the late Manuel and Conceicao (Fernandes) Sousa.

He was recently retired from Robert Commercial Construction where he made many friendships throughout his time there.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and teaching his children and grandchildren everything he knew, which was endless.  Each and every summer he would look forward to a family camping trip up in the mountains of New Hampshire.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Pamela along with his children Andrew Sousa (Sarah) of Dartmouth, Jillian Sousa (Nicholas) of Marion, Sisters Maria Amancia Moniz (Jose) of Dartmouth, Conceicao Rodrigues (Jose) of Dartmouth, Paulina Fernandes (Mike) of  Dartmouth, 4 grandchildren Aubrey, Haley, Arlo and Bowen, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to his parents John is predeceased by his sister Maria Olivia Tomko and his brother Manuel Sousa.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM, in the First Congregational Church, 34 Center Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719
