Joan P. Murphy

East Falmouth – Joan P. Murphy, 88, wife of John F. Murphy, passed away at home on Sunday September 22, 2024 with her family at her side.  Mrs. Murphy was born in Boston the daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Gilchriest) Sullivan. 

A graduate of Roslindale High School, Class of 1954 and Massasoit Community College.  Mrs. Murphy was a Registered Nurse and worked for many years as an operating room nurse at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and later at the Brockton Hospital in the Psychology Ward.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and craft painting and stenciling.

She is also survived by Her sons: Daniel G. Murphy  of RI, and Michael P. Murphy of Quincy MA.      Loving Grandmother of Daniel G. Murphy, Jr., Madison H. Murphy and Alyssa S. Murphy.  She was also survived by many loving relatives and friends. She was the sister of the late Mary Fortier.
