Jeanne M. (Elliott) Moore

Jeanne Mary Moore, 92, of Sagamore Beach, died unexpectedly July 20, 2023 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

Born on November 12, 1930 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Marie E. Elliott and the late William S. Elliott.

Jeanne attended the Agassi School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  She also studied at the Parson’s School of Design and became a master seamstress. She taught dressmaking at Perkins School for the Blind, then worked in couture in a boutique in Rahway, NJ, where she met her husband of thirty-five years, Clifford E. Moore. After their move to Cape Cod, MA, she worked at Ocean Spray Cranberry and Components Manufacturing where she retired after over 20 years of service.  She enjoyed music, singing, reading, and traveling. Known in her later years for her unwavering support for family who always found refuge in her, in her youth she was adventurous. She traveled cross country with two girlfriends in the 1950’s when segregation was the law of the land.   

She is survived by her children Theodore Moore (Molly) of Harlem, NY; Karen Young of Columbia, SC; Clifford J. Moore of Sagamore Beach, and Darryle Moore of Lithia Springs, GA; as well as their closest cousin Donna Denize.  She is predeceased by her husband; stepchildren Warren Moore and Jennifer Daniels; and siblings William James Elliott (Margie), Constance Coleman (Benjamin), Raymond Elliott (Mary) and Emily Denize.

She leaves to cherish her memory 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be conducted at 10:45 AM Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.   Please arrive prior to 10:30 AM at the cemetery.  Wareham Village Funeral Home is handling her final arrangements; in lieu of flowers please send your donations can be sent to 803 556-1343 for Venmo, Cashapp or Zelle. . The family will receive relatives and friends after the service at 24 Old Plymouth Road, Sagamore Beach, MA.
