Jean R. (Belanger) Amaral

West Wareham-Jean R. Amaral, 86, of West Wareham formerly of New Bedford, passed away Sunday January 25, 2026, at home after a brief illness.  She was the wife of Edwin Amaral also of West Wareham and daughter of the late Armand M. and Lucille (Rock) Belanger.

She attended New Bedford  Public Schools and graduated from the Gardner State College for Nursing.  She had a wonderful and compassionate career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Jean also enjoyed her family especially her grand and great grandson, reading , music and memorabilia sporting events with her husband Edwin.

Jean is also survived by her children: Michael Favreau and his loving partner Sally Aguiar of New Bedford  and Karen Racine  her late husband Robert also of New Bedford.  She was the step-mother of  Michael Amaral of Acushnet, Carol Ailor and her husband Larry Owen of Lakeville and Edwin Amaral Jr. of Fall River,  Sister of Rita Machado of New Bedford.  Grandmother of Zackery Ailor and his wife Crystal and Great grandmother of Jett.  She was also survived by many loving nieces nephews relatives and friends.   Sister of the late Cecille and Norman Morris.

Memorial Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday February 4,  from 4 - 6 pm in the Wareham Village Funeral Home,5 Center Street Wareham, MA 02571
