Janet Gable Obituary

Boston-Janet S. Gable, 69, of Boston, died Dec. 27, 2020 at Tufts Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Newton on Nov. 6, 1951 to the late Frank J. Gable and Geraldine [Pastorelli] Gable.   Janet graduated from Sacred Heart School in Newton in 1969. She was a graduate of Ohio State University and received a master’s in urban and regional planning from the University of New Orleans in 1982. She worked in the planning department at Newton City Hall for several years and subsequently in travel and tourism around the world. In later years, Janet was an avid gardener and lived life on her own terms. She is survived by sister Geraldine [Gable] Costello and her husband Andrew of Wareham, sister Kristine [Gable] Harris and her husband Elton of Painted Post, N.Y., brother Frank J. Gable of Estero, FL., and nephew Terrence M. Costello of Malden. Funeral services will be private, with interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
