Wareham – Gerald Thomas Menchin, 38, of Wareham, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, November 5, 2022. He was the son of Laura Carbonneau and her husband Steven Carbonneau of Wareham. Gerry is the father of his beautiful daughter, Jordan Paige Menchin and a life-partner of Lindsay Bonner both of Wareham.
Gerry grew up in Braintree and Weymouth before moving to Wareham. He is a graduate of Wareham High School and went on to become a carpenter for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local #346.
Gerry was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed Boston’s greatest teams that included; The New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and the mighty Boston Bruins. As a young boy, he played baseball for many seasons and was noted for his pitching talent. It was also during this time that his love for fishing developed.
During his free time, Gerry was a regular at various gyms in and around his home and enjoyed teaching his daughter how to fish. Gerry also enjoyed traveling to beautiful New Hampshire with his daughter and others, taking advantage of the countless hiking trails and hottest fishing holes.
He is also survived by his four loving sisters; Amanda Bertram and her husband, Christian of Mattapoisett, Kristina Carbonneau of Wareham, Tara Carbonneau of New Bedford, and Sabrina Carbonneau of Windsor, CT. Gerry also leaves behind a large loving extended family including his grandfather, Leon Carbonneau of Quincy, his cherished nephew, Sebastian Carbonneau and many loving aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham, at 12:30 pm. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
