Francis J. Plante “Frank”, 87, of Quincy and Palm Coast, FL, husband of 60 years to Margaret E. Plante “Peggy”, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was the son of the late Frank and Miriam (Redman) Plante.
Born in Quincy, MA, Frank was a 1955 North Quincy High School graduate. A United States Navy veteran serving from 1956-1959 aboard the USS Leyte. He attended and graduated from Coyne Electrical School in Boston. He also attended Newbury Jr. College. He was employed as a foreman at General Dynamics for 25 years until its closing in 1986. He went on to work for the Quincy Public Schools.
He was an avid reader and a huge New England sports fan, keeping the Boston Celtics at the top of the list. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at his summer home in West Ossipee, NH. Frank and Peggy enjoyed traveling to many places together, making wonderful memories. His patience and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Robert F. Plante and his wife Teresa, Paul A. Plante and his wife Tara of Quincy, Pamela M. Carter and her companion Scott O’Connell of Quincy, Kayla M. Plante and her partner Danielle Flaherty of Stoughton. Loving, devoted grandfather to Teddy, Maggie, Patrick, Connor, Cassidy, Robbie, Ricky, Ryan, and Nina. Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Brother of the late Charles Plante.
