Donald Lake, Jr. "Donnie" Obituary

Donald Lake Jr., "Donnie" 56, died unexpectedly on February 24, 2026 after a long illness alone in his car during the blizzard.  Husband of Kimberly A. (Young) Lake of Wareham.

Donald lived a life in service to his beloved town of Wareham and held many jobs in our community. He began his career as a summer/seasonal police officer, walking the beat in Onset and on Main Street in Wareham Village. He also worked at the Wareham Police Department as a maintenance worker, doing carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and helping to maintain the fleet. He also worked at the Wareham Town Hall and Multi Service Center as a custodian and then as a general laborer for Wareham Municipal Maintenance Dept., otherwise known as the  Town Barn.  He as one of those self-sacrificing laborers moving snow until everyone could get out.

Donnie was an avid hunter and spent many hours in the woods waiting for the perfect buck. He was also an avid sports fan and loved all of the Boston teams as well as the Brockton Rocks. Donnie was the type of man who would do anything for his coworkers and friends, even at the expense of his own health.

Donald is survived by his son Jason Lake and daughter Nirvana Lake both of Wareham.  He is also survived by a brother, James Lake and his niece Pauline Lake and many loving relatives and friends.

Donnie was predeceased by his infant daughter Katelynn Leah, his parents Donald and Alice (Hathaway) Lake, his sister Brenda Lake and his twin sister, Caroline Lake.

The family of Donald E. Lake Jr. would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the friends relatives and acquaintances who generously donated to assist in Donald's burial. This has been a time of sorrow and mourning for all of us. God Bless you all.
