New Bedford-Diane M. Hamel, 78, of Acushnet, passed away on December 13, 2021 at Saint Lukes Hospital. Ms. Hamel was born in Acushnet and she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Henriques) Hamel.
She worked in the textile industry of New Bedford most of her life and most recently as a machine operator for Titleist Corp. She loved everything “Cher” from her movies to her music performances. She was the “Carne Cook” of the family for over 50 years at the “Feast of the Blessed Sacrament.” Many fond memories of Lincoln Park and Mary’s Pond.
She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews relatives, friends and Penny Ellis of Wareham and she was the sister of the late Nancy T. Rothwell and Joseph D. Hamel.
