Deborah L. Quinlan, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 30, 2025, in Wareham, Massachusetts, after a courageous battle with frontotemporal dementia. She was also a double cancer survivor.
Debbie was born and raised in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and graduated from Attleboro High School and Mount Ida College. Debbie had been living in the Lititz, Pennsylvania area
for over 20 years prior to moving back to Massachusetts in 2024. Debbie loved painting, annual family trips to Stowe, VT, anything involving the winter or snow, and collecting stuffed animals. As a member of the Rhode Island Romance Writers Guild, her biggest passion was writing novels, including Chloe’s Hope, which was published in 2015.
Always a devout Catholic, Debbie worked as a youth minister in Woonsocket, RI after college prior to assuming administrative positions at her family’s company in Massachusetts, followed by Nestle Peter’s Chocolate in MA and Wilbur Chocolate/Cargill in PA. She discovered her ideal career when she began helping others while working as a caregiver for Home Instead.
Debbie is survived by her sisters, Cindy Fula of Tamarac, FL, and Lori Rogers and her husband Steven of East Taunton, MA, her brother, Mark Quinlan of Plano, TX, her Aunt and Uncle, Rosemarie and Anthony Ferrara of Taunton, MA (formerly of Mansfield), as well as several nieces and nephews, whom she adored, and many cousins. Debbie was predeceased by her parents, David Quinlan, Isabel Brennan and William Brennan, her long-time partner Paul Chin, and her brother-in-law Luis Fula. We will all miss how she made us laugh and her kindness to anyone who needed a hand.
We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at The Tremont Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center of Wareham, MA and Susquehanna Health and Wellness Center of Columbia, PA for the exceptional care they gave Debbie during her illness.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
