Darren Benevides, 33, of Wareham, MA passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2025. He was born in Hyannis, MA and was a son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend. Darren loved animals and was a paintball enthusiast in his teen years. In the past few years he took great pride in his work ethic, passion for BMW’s and his infamous dreadlocks. Darren was a free spirit unbound by convention. Anyone who knew him knows he had a fiercely independent nature and marched to the beat of his own drum.
He is survived by his mother, Stephanie Grabowski and husband Michael of Newbury Park,CA, father, Brian Benevides of Wareham, MA, brothers Thomas Benevides and wife Lexxy of Parkville, MD, Zachary Benevides and Timothy Benevides of Wareham, MA, Jonathan Benevides of Newbury Park, CA, uncles Jonathan Cassie and husband John of Newbury Park, CA, Rick Benevides and wife Marianne of Plymouth, MA, aunt Debbie Fitzpatrick and husband Tommy of Plymouth, MA and grandmother Marie Benevides of Plymouth, MA along with several cousins. He is preceded by his grandparents Herbert and Kathleen Cassie and Ritchie Benevides.
The family is having a private memorial in his honor. Donations can be made to MSCPA or your local animal rescue of your choice.
