Uxbridge-Charles L. Bianchi, 89, of Uxbridge passed away peacefully Monday August 25, at the Life Care Center of Auburn after a brief illness. Mr. Bianchi was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 1/2 years, Arline M. (Cartier) who passed away in 2011. Mr. Bianchi was born in Milford the son of the late Joseph C. and Giselda (Frascotti) Bianchi.
Mr. Bianchi attended Milford Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1943. He was the president of his class throughout high school and participated in all varsity sports enjoying football the most. A WWII Army veteran he enlisted on August 15, 1943.
Mr. Bianchi was employed with the Marble & Nye Paint Co. as an accountant and later as an agent for Metropolitan Life retiring after 25 years of service. A former Uxbridge Little League Coach He is a past member and Chaplain of the Italian American Veterans of Milford and an avid Team Bocci player. Past Commander, softball and basketball player for the Charles A. Rice American legion Post # 33 Uxbridge. A communicant of Saint Mary's Church Uxbridge and a loving, caring man to all and an avid New England Sports fan. He also enjoyed music and dancing.
Mr. Bianchi is survived by his children; Charlene and her husband David Hughes of Millbury, Sandra and her husband Eric Webb of Sturbridge and Carter Bianchi and his wife Patricia of Uxbridge. His grandchildren; Donald Tarallo, Jeffrey Taft, David Hughes III and Benson Bianchi. His great grandson's Alex Tarallo and Michael Bianchi and his sister Regina L. Consoletti and her husband Bernard of Milford. He is also survived by many loving nieces' nephews' relatives and friends. Mr. Bianchi was the brother of the late Joseph C. Bianchi Jr. and Henry F. "Hank" Bianchi.
Ceremonies: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 28, from 5-8pm in Saint Mary's Church 77 Mendon Street Uxbridge www.stmaryuxbridge.org Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 29th at 10 O'clock in the church. Internment will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
