Beverly T. (Whitaker) Salerno

Beverly T. Salerno, 87, of Onset passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, with her family at her side.  Beverly was the loving wife of Joseph M. Salerno also of Onset.  She was born in Boston the daughter of the late Warren F. and Theresa (Hennessy) Whitaker.

She is survived by her children:  Joseph Salerno and his wife Joan, Mark Salerno and his wife Carolee, Marie Greig and her husband Richard, John Salerno all of Onset, and Paul Salerno and his wife Djany of Missouri.  She was grandmother of Alicia, Adrienne, the late Marc Salerno, Ashleigh, Alex, Valedina, Shannon, Christopher and Hannah and great grandmother of Anthony, Veda, and Aria.  She was the sister of Harold Whitaker of Weymouth and the late Warren Whitaker.  She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends she made family. 

In her 87 years, she imparted many important life lessons – it’s always ice cream time, chocolate is a major food group, you can freeze everything, and if you want to accomplish something, you do not let anything get in your way.  Beverly lived her life with a sense of humor and a fierce devotion to those she loved.  With her you always knew where you stood and what she thought.  Even with her passing, she’d tell you not to send flowers, “they just die and are a waste of money.”
