East Wareham-Barbara M. Karlson, 87, of East Wareham, passed away on Tuesday April 13, 2021 at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the wife of the late Leroy R. “Buddy” Karlson. She was born in Brockton the daughter of the late Eldon and Delia (DeForge) Evans. Barbara attended Brockton Public Schools and graduated from Brockton Business College. She returned to the college to teach typing and short hand. Barbra was always the life of the party. She was very quick witted, kind, and caring. Barbara loved to dance, drink martinis, go camping and tell stories. She always carried a tube of lip stick with her everywhere she went because she said “you never knew who you were going to meet.” She was so beautiful and glamorous. Barbara always had to have her hair, nails, and makeup done. Her family always said she should have been a movie star.
Barbara also enjoyed her retirement job at White Island Beach doing beach patrol that she worked many years. She liked to refer herself as the “Beach B!#ch.” Everyone who met her loved her. She always wanted to know who was going to have the next party.
Barbara is survived by her sister Carol A. Lincoln of Lakeville, her daughter in-law Joanne Karlson of Wareham and many loving nieces nephews relatives and friends. She was the mother of the late Richard E. Karlson and sister of the late Eldon Evans and Irene Mobark.
