Lancaster, NH - Andrew G. “Andy” Matott, 82, of Lancaster, New Hampshire formerly of Tilton, New Hampshire, passed away on Monday evening January 9, 2023 at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster after several years of declining health.
Born in Laconia, New Hampshire, Andy was the son of the late Guy R. and Lura M. (Sawyer) Matott. Andy was a graduate of Bellingham, MA High School in 1958 where he was a basketball standout. Andy enjoyed following the Boston Celtics and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He always enjoyed old westerns and was often found watching episodes of Gun Smoke or Wagon Train.
Andy worked for many years for the Highway Department in the town of Tilton, New Hampshire. Andy was an avid tinkerer and fixer of small engines and enjoyed working on cars especially with his grandson and friends Dennis and Frank.
He is survived by his children: Andrea Smith (Randy) of Bethlehem, NH; Susan Consoletti (Guy) of Lancaster, NH; Marc Matott, Sr. of Mendon, MA; and, Lorianne Lussier (Jerry) also of Mendon. He was the grandfather of Dominic (Jasmine), Andrew (Sarah), Nicholas, Marc, Jr., Matthew, Krystal (Alex), Steven (Danielle) and Jessica. Great Grandfather of Rowan, Landon, Dorothy, and Peyton. Brother of Joanne Jordan of Tilton, NH and Marilyn Bousquet of Gilford, NH. His friend, wife, companion, and cribbage buddy Jean (Roy) Matott. His loyal and faithful fur babies “Raven” who crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Jan. 8 and was always at his side, Bodie, Lily, Luna and Penny who will miss him as well as his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Johnson and Nancy Hensel.
