Alphonso C. Martin

Alphonso C. “Al” Martin, 79, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Friday May 27, 2022, at his home.  He was the husband of the late Arlene E. (Struble) Martin.

Born on April 27, 1943 in Somerville, MA, the son of the late Alphonso and the late Verna (Lowe) Martin, he attended Medford High School.

Prior to his retirement, Al worked in the meat department at Stop and Shop for over 20 years most recently in Chelmsford, MA. Previously, he owned and operated A&M Vending Company on Cape Cod. He and his wife were longtime residents of Hyannis.

Al is survived by his three children Alan Martin and his wife Judi of Plymouth, MA, Donna Martin and her wife Nicole Stiling of Lowell, MA, and Keith Martin and his wife Elizabeth of Falmouth, MA; his brother James Martin and his wife Esther of Switzerland; a sister Pearl Brown of Dracut, MA; Nine grandchildren Kindra, Cara, Kassandra, Devan, Makayla, Jamie, Thomas, Addison, and Maddox; Four great-grandchildren Logan, Amelia, Stella, and Theodore; many nieces and nephews, a foster son Jeff Avery as well as many other foster sons and daughters that he and his late wife Arlene raised for over 20 years; and his beloved Shih-Tzu Delilah.

A committal service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2022 at 10 am in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery Tihonet Road Wareham, MA 02571. Please arrive at the cemetery by 9:45.
