Bourne-Robert W. Eldridge, 88, of Bourne formerly of Needham, passed away on Tuesday July 10, at home after a long illness. Mr. Eldridge was the husband of Anne E. (Noyes) Eldridge also of Bourne. He was born in Boston the son of the late David and Ellen F. Peterson Eldridge.
Mr. Eldridge attended Needham Public Schools and he was an Army National Guardsman and a veteran police officer for the town of Needham, MA. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed a good game of cards. He adored his family and pool time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Carol Smith of Sandwich, Gary A. Fisher of Medway, RuthAnn Fisher of NH and Robert M. Fisher of RI. He was the grandfather of Robert C. Smith Jr., Matthew H. Smith, Katie McCarren, Nichole Hartmann, Jennipher Tripp and Danielle Stewart he was also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. He was the brother of the late David Eldridge.
Ceremonies: Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday July 21, from 10 - 11:30 am with his funeral service to begin at 11:30 in the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center Street Wareham, MA.
