Michael Altobello Obituary

Wareham, MA - Michael W. Altobello, 77, of Wareham and Punta Gorda, FL passed away on Monday, June 17 at home in Wareham with his family at his side.  Michael was the husband of Patricia (Gildea) Higgins also of Wareham and Punta Gorda, FL.  Michael was born in Boston, the son of the late Michael J. and Stella (Satkevich) Altobello.

Michael attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Hyde Park High School.  He furthered his education at Burdett College for accounting.  He worked for the Purity Supreme Super Market chain as an accountant.  Michael served for over 20 years in the Army Air National Guard and worked for as many years as a mechanic for the U.S. Government.  A golf enthusiast, Michael is a member of the Hole-in-One Club and enjoyed playing golf at Little Harbor Country Club and Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton.

In addition to his wife Patti, Michael is survived by his children; Barbara Castrechini and her husband Richard of Onset, Edward Glover and his wife Barbara of Mendon, Darren Glover and his wife Charlene of Waltham, Michael Altobello and his wife Adele Sicuso of Chelmsford, Kaitlyn Higgins and Emily Higgins both of Arizona.  He was the brother of Karen Callaghan of South Dennis and the late Ronald and Stephen Altobello.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Danielle and her husband Jim, Marc and his wife Jenn, Derek, Suzannah, Alec, Abigail and Hannah, as well as 5 great grandchildren; Alexis, Nathan, Addison, Ethan and Emma and many loving relatives and friends. 

His funeral will be from the Wareham Village Funeral Home, 5 Center Street, Wareham, MA on Monday, June 24 at 9:15 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Saint Margaret’s Church, 141 Main Street, Buzzard’s Bay, MA.  Visiting hours will be from 4 – 7 pm on Sunday, June 23 at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to American Red Cross (Local Red Cross Programs), P.O.
